Supply Chain Management has a theoretical foundation in transaction cost theory and the network approach. A major part of the book is devoted to the implications of new concepts such as Customer Relationship Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Vendor-managed Inventory, Efficient Consumer Response, and Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment.
